Deadline, fee & detailsThe deadline for all applications is Friday, July 28, 2017. The first exhibition is scheduled for Spring 2018. The application fee is $25. Six to seven of the applying artists will be selected for solo exhibitions in 2018 – 2020 at the Lansdowne Arts Board’s newly renovated 20*20 House, in Lansdowne, PA. Artists are responsible for insuring all artwork, and are responsible for dropping off and picking up artwork, as well as assisting with hanging the show. The Arts Board reserves the right to reproduce any artwork in a show for promotional materials.
who should applyThe Open Call provides emerging, mid-career and established artists an opportunity to present a solo exhibition in an up-and-coming arts space, Lansdowne’s 20*20 House, and offers artists the chance to have their work reviewed by Jodi Throckmorton, Curator of Contemporary Art at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Applying artists must reside within 100 miles of Philadelphia and must not currently be students. All visual art styles and media are welcome.

Jodi ThrockmortonJodi Throckmorton is curator of contemporary art at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia. Previously, Throckmorton was curator of modern and contemporary art at the Ulrich Museum of Art at Wichita State University, Kansas, and associate curator at the San Jose Museum of Art, California. She organized the exhibition and publication Postdate: Photography and Inherited History in India (2015). Other projects include Melt/Carve/Forge: Embodied Sculptures by Cassils (2016); Bruce Conner: Somebody Else’s Prints (2014); Questions from the Sky: New Work by Hung Liu (2013); Ranu Mukherjee: Telling Fortunes (2012); and This Kind of Bird Flies Backward: Paintings by Joan Brown (2011). Throckmorton is currently curating an exhibition and publication on the work of Rina Banerjee opening in 2018.
