Weaving Longitudes will survey the work of Leanne Grimes and Lisa Haskell, two artists who intersect and overlap in their explorations of time, space, and memory. The culmination of this show focuses on how the two weave their stories as mothers, daughters, and art educators onto the walls of the 20*20 House with work they have made throughout their careers. The show will be a look back, forward, and through, with new connections made as a result.
The show represents a reflection as a whole rooted in concrete ideas with a desire to present shared experiences. The aesthetic of these women may differ stylistically, but each artist is focused on translating the notions of existence and consciousness, figuratively and abstractly weaving memories through a conjured time and place to arrive at destinations layered with reminiscence. A journey of the past, meeting the present, and pondering the possibilities of exploration.

Lisa Haskell
Lisa Haskell is an artist living and working in Philadelphia. Lisa’s artwork primarily consists of painting while also employing layers of mixed media. Both urban and natural environments have continually provided inspiration in Lisa’s creative process. She is intrigued by situations of deterioration, entanglement, and unruliness but also references the order of maps – in her most recent work she creates imagined worlds which come from the intense desire to travel and explore more distant lands.
Lisa received a BFA and graduated summa cum laude with departmental honors as valedictorian of her class from Moore College of Art and Design in 2010. Lisa has received various awards and recognitions – her work has been included in numerous gallery shows and private collections. Aside from spending time in her studio, she is an art teacher at a local cooperative school.
