What does it mean to live in a city, to move through it, shape it, and be shaped by it?

In Stomping Ground, contemporary artists Eustace Mamba, Kara Mshinda, Sophie C. White, and Nasir Young celebrate the everyday rhythms of Philadelphia. Their practices explore layered connections between personal memory, urban space, and cultural identity. They draw from real places, "championing the mundane” as they elevate moments that often slip by unnoticed, blending lived experience with imagination and aspiration.
